Pecan ButterballsIngredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Confectioners’ sugar for rolling


Cream butter and 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar. Add vanilla and beat well. Stir in flour, salt and chopped pecans. Mix well, and chill dough if necessary. Shape into small balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheets for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from pan, cool for a few minutes, and roll carefully in confectioners’ sugar. Let cool completely. Dust with additional confectioners’ sugar just before serving. Makes 2 to 3 dozen depending on size.
